Springtime in the Park

Thank you to everyone who came out to participate in the Spring mini-sessions! We were very lucky to have two beautiful days at the Arboretum! I truly enjoyed meeting so many new families and had such a great time with all of you!

Ok, I'll Admit It.....

I am BAD at this blogging stuff. I'm going to try and play catch-up and I promise to try harder staying on top of posting!
So, where did I leave off? I believe it was back in April when I did R's birthday shoot, as well as some beach pictures with his family!

Going to the Chapel....

I'll admit it. Growing up I never dreamt about my wedding day, having children or any of that mushy girl stuff. It always seemed like something that would never happen to me. Boy, was I wrong!

I met my soon-to be husband and we were engaged before dating for even a year. I was pregnant a little under a year after the wedding. Since I never thought these things would happen, at least not this early in my life, I could care less about having a boy or a girl. But when we went for my 20 week sonogram and heard the news that our first baby was a girl, I was ecstatic.

Now, 4 1/2 years later, I have a beautiful and sometimes difficult little woman on my hands. But while I failed to fantasize about all the chick-flick stuff, my girl obsesses over it. Since she was two, she has been talking about her "Married-Party" (that means "wedding" for all you non kid-lingo people lol).

So, imagine how perfect it was to hear that her class would be dancing to "Chapel of Love". AND wearing mini-wedding dresses. G has been in seventh heaven since hearing this and loves to try on her costume. And she loves it so much, she actually asked, no wait - BEGGED - me to take pictures of her in her costume. So, of course, I could not refuse!

Sweet{est} Baby Girl!

There are not enough words to describe this adorable, sweet baby girl! At about 3 weeks old, Little Miss K was still a peanut! She was not even suppposed to have been born yet. In fact, I believe her mom told me she was due about a week from today's date. I never worked with a preemie before, but at around only 6 pounds, she did great! Once we got this cutie to sleep (thanks to mom and a nice fulfilling meal), she was easy to pose and did not make a peep until we were getting ready to wrap up! I can only post a few here, but please check out the rest of my favorites on my facebook fan page!

Once Upon a Time....

...there lived a sweet Little Price! Lil' Prince P. was filled with endless amounts of energy! When given his birthday cake to devour, he decided he didn't like the feeling of it on his hands! He did much better with a spoon, but as you can see, really hated the way it tasted! Looks like mom better make brownies instead for his party!

Spring is....well, Springing!

When I originally became interested in photography, I never thought I would one day be taking pictures of kids! Not that I don't love it, because I do, but my true passion is nature photography. I remember when I used to have a rough day at work (when I worked a "real" job) I would take my lunch break and just drive around and look for interesting things to photograph. I always felt resfreshed when returning to work. Well, it sure has been a dreary winter, so when I eyed our first tulip a few days ago, I couldn't resist grabbing my camera for just a few shots!

Daffodils are my fave!
My magnolia tree! We bought it a few years ago and I get nervous every winter. It's so small (only about my height) and so delicate looking. I always worry it wont make it, but each spring, it produces the most beautiful flowers!

And now for the good news! Due to numerous requests, I have decided to offer a number of my nature photographs for sale on my website! I should have the page up and running in a few days so remember to check it out!

When Things Don't Go According to Plan....

As a photographer, I can tell you that there is nothing better than a kid who sits still and smiles. But, unfortunately, in the real world, children HATE to sit still, hate to smile and hate to take pictures. Especially one year olds, who just want to explore and play. Our job is to try our best to get the images the mom or dad wanted, but sometimes, just sometimes, it is truly impossible. I met with baby A.'s family yesterday for a birthday & smash cake session. Little Miss A. would NOT sit still - not for a second! She was a good walker for only being one! She pretty much had it before we even changed her outfit, so by the time the cake came out, she was DONE taking pictures. However, just because things did not go according to plan, it doesn't mean we give up - we just come up with a new plan! And wouldn't you know that I had so much trouble just choosing the pictures to post here because I fell in love with so many of them. Happy Birthday A. and thanks to mom and dad for all their hard work chasing her around! I'm sure you both slept good last night!
